How can companies influence consumer behaviour through circular business models? (ESR 8)
In the transition to the circular economy not only companies’ ways of operating need to change but also consumer behaviour in order to achieve the overarching aim of the circular economy: sustainability. Different approaches, through which companies can influence consumer behaviour, are known in the literature: from educating and/or informing consumers, to products that are designed to change consumers’ behaviour and new business models. Vivian explores how companies with circular business models can influence consumers and which ways of influencing consumers work best to achieve sustainable consumption and hence a (more) sustainable economy.
